Brighton to St Kilda – Elwood Beach
This popular walk along the Elwood foreshore is the perfect outing for a warm Sunday morning. Join the thousands of Melburnians who regularly walk, jog and ride this wide, well-formed path along the shores of the Bay. Our coffee stop this morning will be under the pines at Elwood Beach, after we’ve walked from Brighton Beach to St Kilda Marina and return.
Start: Assemble at North Point Café, at the beach-end of North Rd, Brighton.
Need a lift? meet at the usual pic-up point at corner Glenferrie Rd and Riversdale Rd, Hawthorn. Call Graham on 0412 589 185 to request a lift.
Parking: Park along North Road back up from the beach. It’s free, whereas the council carpark is ticketed and fee-paying.
The Walk: The walk is along the Bayside Trail as far as St Kilda Marina and then return the same way.
Total distance: 7.0 km.
Time: Allow 2.5 hours for the walk, including coffee at Elwood.
Difficulty: Easy
Toilets: At the start and at Elwood, halfway.
Coffee: The café at Elwood Bathers, on Elwood Beach.
Cost: The cost to join us for this walk is $10.
