Brighton to St Kilda – Elwood Beach
This popular walk along the Elwood foreshore is the perfect outing for a warm Sunday morning. Join the thousands of Melburnians who regularly walk, jog and ride this wide, well-formed path along the shores of the Bay. Our coffee stop this morning will be the new cafe at St Kilda Marina.
Start: Assemble at North Point Café, at the beach-end of North Rd, Brighton.
Need a lift? meet at the usual pic-up point at corner Glenferrie Rd and Riversdale Rd, Hawthorn. Call Graham on 0412 589 185 to request a lift.
Parking: Park along North Road back up from the beach. It’s free, whereas the council carpark is ticketed and fee-paying.
The Walk: The walk is along the Bayside Trail as far as St Kilda Marina and then return the same way.
Total distance: 7.0 km.
Time: Allow 2.5 hours, including coffee.
Difficulty: Easy
Toilets: At the start and at Elwood, halfway.
Coffee: The café at St Kilda Marina.
Cost: The cost to join us for this walk is $10.
